Mike Daniels To Host Youth Football Camp In Gloucester Township

Daniels is a Highland Regional High School alum and current Green Bay Packer.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Green Bay Packers defensive end Mike Daniels will host the inaugural youth football camp at Highland Regional High School in Gloucester Township on Saturday, July 8. Daniels graduated from Highland in 2007. He played college football at Iowa University.

Daniels knows about adversity, according to philly.com.

Iowa and Temple University were the only two college to offer him a scholarship coming out of high school, despite rushing for over 2,000 yards and scoring 25 career touchdowns as a Tartans running back, and being named first-team all-conference as a senior.

After redshirting his freshman year, he wasn’t listed on the depth chart for the following season. He went on to start every game as a sophomore, junior and senior, and was named second-team all-conference as a senior.

He graduated with a degree in sociology, was drafted in the fourth round of the 2012 NFL Draft, and has played in nearly every game as a Packer since.

So he understands the need to pay it forward. With that in mind, he decided to give back to the communities in Gloucester Township and the surrounding areas with this football camp. It is for anyone interested in playing football between the ages of 8 and 17 years old.

Other players who are scheduled to appear at the camp include Packers teammates Jahri Evans and Joe Callahan; Mohamed Sanu, of the Atlanta Falcons; Tahir Whitehead of the Detroit Lions; Carl Davis of the Baltimore Ravens; Adam Gettis of the New York Giants; and Dezman Moses, of the Kansas City Chiefs.
