Mom Says Daughter Targeted By Driver Who Hit Teens In South Jersey: Report

A teen was said to have driven by her multiple times along E Gibbsboro Road.

LINDENWOLD, NJ — One of the teens hit by a teen driver on Tuesday may have been targeted, according to NJ Advance Media.

A 16-year-old boy has been charged with "joyriding," among other violations, after he drove onto a sidewalk and left six kids injured along E Gibbsboro Road.

The mother of a 15-year-old girl said the driver and her daughter used to date, and that he drove by her multiple times that day after school before the crash.

"Based on conversations I've had with my daughter, and on other details I know about this young man, I think it's very possible that the crash was intentional," she said.

In the days following the collision, the boy's mother also spoke out and told Telemundo that the whole thing was an accident.

"God knows how I ask him every day that both the children can get through this, and be well with their parents," she said.

While the girl who was hit was not identified, the family of another teen, Nahum Ramirez, asked for the community's help in rallying around their son to raise resources for his medical recovery.

"By an absolute miracle, Nahum survived the horrific impact, but he sustained serious injuries that will require a long and difficult recovery," his mother said in a message translated from Spanish to English.

All of the teens continue to recover from their injuries, including one who was trapped under the SUV after the impact.
