Multiple Car Break-Ins Prompt Reminders From Gloucester Twp. Police

The cars that were broken into had one thing in common, according to police.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A string of recent break-ins among unlocked cars in Gloucester Township spurred the municipality's police department to remind residents of the importance of locking up their cars.

"Get into the '9 p.m. Routine' every night by ensuring that your keys or key fobs are removed, your valuables are removed or well hidden in your vehicle and your vehicle is locked," the police department said. "By participating in the '9 p.m. Routine,' residents can help reduce the opportunity for vehicle burglaries and thefts."

The police did not indicate what was taken during the recent break-ins.
