A New Jersey mother of three was stabbed to death while her three children were asleep Tuesday, and her husband was taken into custody, police said.
The husband, 46-year-old Nitin Singh, who was standing in the room at the time police arrived and taken into custody, had been having marital problems with his wife, according to an NBC Philadelphia report.
Police and EMS were sent to the couple's home on North Broadway in Pennsville in Salem County around 5:30 a.m. Tuesday after getting a call about a cardiac arrest. Soon after, they found Ceema Singh's body on the kitchen floor with stab wounds, according to NBC Philadelphia.

Pennsville police officers found the woman lying dead on the floor of the kitchen, stabbed multiple times, according to nj.com. Her husband was standing over the victim, covered in blood.

Their children, ages 5, 6 and 15, were asleep at the time and will not be witnesses, although child protective services did take custody of the three. Child protective services is working with members of the family's church to keep the kids together, according to the NBC report.
