Couple Who Asked South Jersey Cops For A Ride Found With Heroin, Stolen Hospital Gear: PD

They did end up getting a police escort, but not to their intended destination.

WASHINGTON TOWNSHIP, NJ — A couple asked officers for a ride early Thursday morning at the Washington Township police station. They brought heroin and a stolen hospital thermometer, authorities said.

The pair walked to the station at about 2 a.m. and asked police for a ride home. They had just been discharged from Jefferson Washington Township Hospital, police said.

Police told them that they'd need to conduct a search for officer safety before giving them a ride.
