Overtime Field Goal Puts Timber Creek Football Team in South Jersey Final

The top-seeded Chargers face No. 2 seed Shawnee in the final, according to nj.com.

A Tony Colucci field goal has the Timber Creek High School football team playing for a South Jersey championship, according to nj.com.

Colucci hit four field goals, none bigger than his 25-yarder in overtime, to give No. 1 seed Timber Creek a 25-22 win over No. 4 Kingsway in the semifinals of the NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV playoffs.

Timber Creek will play No. 2 Shawnee, a 42-10 winner over Hammonton, for the championship in two weeks. If both teams win their Thanksgiving rivalry games, it will be a battle of undefeated teams. Both teams are currently 10-0.

Coluccio’s other field goals were from 33, 24 and 21 yards.

Khalil Trotman also hit Shaquese McIntyre with a 29-yard touchdown pass, and Walter Lewis scored on a 2-yard touchdown run for Timber Creek.

Timber Creek opened an early lead, but Kingsway came back time-and-again, eventually forcing overtime before Colucci’s heroics.
