Parade Marks Start Of Christmas Season In Gloucester Township

The parade is set for Saturday, Dec. 2, beginning at 6 p.m.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The first of two events to kick off the Christmas season is this weekend.
The Blackwood Fire Department's Christmas Parade steps off at 6 p.m. on Saturday night, Dec. 2, and runs until about 9 p.m.

The parade begins at Davistown Road and marches down the Black Horse Pike, ending at Church Street. Parade goers are invited to come back to the fire station after the parade to meet Santa Claus.

During the parade, the Black Horse Pike will be closed to all traffic between Davistown Road and Church Street, according to the Gloucester Township Police Department.

The detour route for northbound traffic is College Drive to Peter Cheeseman Road to Erial Road to Blackwood-Clementon Road to the Black Horse Pike.

The detour for southbound traffic is Church Street to Erial Road to Peter Cheeseman Rd to College Drive to the Black Horse Pike.

Officers will be on location at both closures points. To avoid delays, drivers should seek an alternate route of travel.
