Part Of I-295 To Close Overnight For Construction
Work is part of the $900 million direct connect project to provide a seamless route involving I-295, I-76 and Route 42 in South Jersey.

A stretch of I-295 south where the interstate splits at Exit 26/I-76 west will be closed for milling and paving overnight, the New Jersey Department of Transportation (NJDOT) announced on Friday.
I-295 south will be closed to Route 42 south from 10 p.m. on Friday, Jan. 4, until 6 a.m. on Saturday, Jan. 5. The precise timing of the work is subject to change due to weather or other factors.
There will be a posted detour during this time. The closure is part of NJDOT’s Direct Connection project, which is now advancing into Bellmawr.

“Motorists driving through the area can expect more traffic than usual, sudden stops and possible congestion while the project is underway,” Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said. “Even during overnight hours, this part of the interstate is heavily traveled by motorists. Make sure to give yourself extra time if your drive takes you along this route and be sure to plan for the detour accordingly. As always, be extra mindful of shifting traffic patterns when utilizing unfamiliar roadways as part of the posted detour.”
The following detour will be in effect:
