Planning Trip to Disney World? Meet Your Local Disney Expert
Gloucester Township resident and Disney vacation planner Jen Mullen makes Disney magic for families.

Jen Mullen talks work all the time. Her family, especially her 4-year old, does not mind at all.
Mullen is a Disney Vacation Planner with MickeyTravels and exclusively plans Disney vacations to Disney World, Disneyland, Disney Cruises and other Disney properties.
A Disney fanatic and expert (she still has her autograph book from her first childhood trip), Mullen began her travel-planning business in October 2012 after falling in love with Disney on her daughter’s first trip.

“I have such a passion for everything Disney and I have a passion for traveling. I love helping families enjoy the magic that is Disney without them having to be stressed with all the planning that comes with going a Disney Vacation,” said Mullen, who has lived in Gloucester Township for 10 years.
Mullen's services are always free (she earns commission from Disney) and include everything from booking airfare to accommodations to restaurant reservations. Mullen will also search for the best deals on packages and continue to search for special promotions even after trips are booked.

“Planning a trip to Disney World can be overwhelming for some families. There is so much to see and do,” said Mullen, who customizes itineraries for families and can even provide insider knowledge about the best spots for viewing parades and fireworks.
Some of Mullen’s insider tips: Watch Magic Kingdom fireworks right outside of the gates (avoiding the rush to leave the park when they conclude); visit Animal Kingdom first thing in the morning and see the animals when they are just waking up; catch Disney characters at Epcot, where the lines for meet and greets can be shorter; and to take advantage of Disney’s Extra Magic Hours, special times when the park is exclusively open to guests staying on property.
Her favorite part of the Disney experience is the first time you walk into the Magic Kingdom and see Cinderella’s castle.
“That magical feeling never changes, whether a child or adult,” said Mullen.
Mullen juggles her work with full-time motherhood, often working early in the morning or late at night. Her daughter also gets in on the work, helping select special surprises for families traveling to Disney.
To make sure families get the most for their money, Mullen is constantly monitoring deals and specials. If you want to take advantage of beautiful weather and smaller crowds, she suggests traveling to Disney in January and February or in September and October. Popular times to visit are spring break, summer and during Christmas, when Disney throws a magical holiday celebration.
The rule of thumb is to plan a Disney vacation 180 days in advance to have the best shot at getting reservations to popular dining options, says Mullen. However, she’s booked Disney trips with just three weeks' notice.
“I love when a client will send me a picture of their child’s face the first time they meet their favorite disney character, I love the excitement families get as their vacation gets closer and closer, I love helping be part in making something magical happen for a family,” said Mullen.
