The Gibbsboro School District Superintendent said the school was in "lockout" mode for about a half-hour Tuesday.

GIBBSBORO, NJ — A lockout at the Gibbsboro School District on Tuesday, Jack Marcellus, the district's superintendent told Patch.

The district's students who were inside the building when the lockout first occurred are safe, and students will be dismissed per the usual Gibbsboro School District schedule, Marcellus added.

An off-campus incident occurred within about 1 mile of the school district property, he said. This was what led to the lockout from 9 a.m. to about 9:30 a.m. Tuesday, meaning no one could enter the school district buildings while it was in lockout mode, Marcellus continued.
