Pop-Up COVID Vaccine Site To Serve 588 Veterans Saturday
South Jersey veterans can make an appointment to get a COVID-19 vaccine at a pop-up site in Runnemede this Saturday.
RUNNEMEDE, NJ - Veterans in South Jersey will have the chance to get vaccinated against the coronavirus on Saturday, Camden County officials announced.
The Harry Williams Community Center will vaccinate 588 veterans on Saturday at the intersection of North Black Horse Pike and Broadway in Runnemede, county officials announced.
Vaccinations will be available by appointment only between 7:45 a.m. and 2:15 p.m. Eligible veterans can call 215-823-4014 to make an appointment until all available slots have been filled.

To be eligible, the person receiving the vaccination must be a veteran 75 years old or older, or 65 years old with a serious health condition. They must already be enrolled for VA benefits. The site is not providing shots for spouses or relatives.
“After months spent in isolation, these vaccinations will be an incredible benefit for the mental and physical health of our region’s veterans,” Camden County Commissioner Melinda Kane, liaison to the Office of Veterans Affairs, said. “While we wish that enough resources were available to offer these services more broadly, we are thankful for our partners at the VA for making it possible to increase the number of veterans able to receive this life-changing vaccine.”

In New Jersey, 37 medical centers began offering the Pfizer-BioNTech COVID-19 vaccine to health care personnel and Veterans Dec. 14, according to state officials.
VA New Jersey Health Care System, Lyons campus was one of 113 VA medical centers nationwide that received the initial doses of the vaccine in December.
