Premium Outlets Earn 2015 Gloucester Township Mayor's Award

The Outlets are scheduled to open Aug. 13.

Gloucester Township Mayor David Mayer presented the Gloucester Township Premium Outlets with the 2015 Mayor’s Award for Economic Development during Tuesday’s Business Breakfast.

The award is given to businesses that have demonstrated a commitment to the economic growth of the community.

“Gloucester Premium Outlets is the largest economic development project in the history of our community,” Mayer said. “Since the groundbreaking last August, we’ve seen the project spur significant economic growth for Gloucester Township through the hundreds of jobs created and the additional development projects it has inspired in our area. Gloucester Premium Outlets has played a vital part in positioning Gloucester Township for tremendous economic growth.”

“We are incredibly appreciative to be recognized as an economic asset by Mayor Mayer and the entire Gloucester Township community,” said Kristen Murdica, General Manager of Gloucester Premium Outlets. “Gloucester Premium Outlets is dedicated to the economic vitality of the area and we look forward to serving this wonderful community for years to come.”

The Outlets are scheduled to open Aug.13 and will feature 90 outlet stores that offer savings of 25 percent to 65 percent. Recently, the center announced the first set of brands to open at the center including Adidas, Armani Outlet, Banana Republic Factory Store, Brooks Brothers Factory Store, Calvin Klein, Cole Haan, Columbia Sportswear, Gap Factory Store, Lucky Brand, Puma, Tommy Hilfiger and Under Armour.

The Outlets have already created 300 construction jobs and are expected to create another 800 permanent and part-time jobs once the center opens.

Gloucester Premium Outlets will be located at the intersection of Robert Kelly Drive and Premium OutletsDrive in the Blackwood section of the Township, immediately off the North-South Freeway (Route 42) Exit 7B.

The property will be developed and managed by Simon and will complement the company’s other Premium Outlet located in Limerick, PA, sharing the greater Philadelphia and South New Jersey market overall.
