Relay for Life Gloucester Township This Weekend

Relay For Life is an overnight community experience where teams of friends, family and neighbors walk a track to celebrate cancer survivors.

Veterans Park in Gloucester Township will host an American Cancer Society Relay For Life event from 8 a.m. Saturday, June 13 to 8 a.m. on Sunday, June 14.

Relay for Life is an overnight community experience where teams of friends, family and neighbors walk a track to celebrate cancer survivors, remember those lost to this disease and join together to fight back.

As of Wednesday afternoon, 33 teams had registered and 319 participants had raised over $45,000.

During the weekend event, normal pedestrian and vehicle traffic is expected along Chews Landing Road, Little Gloucester Road, Kelly Drivers Lane and Hider Lane, Gloucester Township Police said.

Drivers should be cautious of pedestrians in the neighborhoods surrounding the park, and are advised to use caution in the area.

Officers will be on location assisting with pedestrian crossings and traffic control at the park. Residents will still be able to get into the park during the event.
