Hundreds Heartbroken Deli, Pizzeria By Gloucester Twp. Closing After 40+ Years

The Gibbsboro establishment also sold ice cream.

GIBBSBORO, NJ — Masso's Deli & Pizzeria in Gibbsboro will close for good this weekend after more than four decades in business, its owners said.

The establishment's pizzeria and deli closed this past Sunday and the ice cream part of the business will cease operations this coming Sunday, according to a Facebook post by its owners.

"We would like to thank all of our loyal customers for 40+ great years," the owners also wrote.

Dozens of people who indicated that they were Masso's Deli & Pizzeria customers said on Facebook they were heartbroken to hear that the deli, pizzeria and ice cream shop was closing.

"A cheesesteak will never taste the same again," a woman who identified herself as Dawn Runquist Dreher wrote.

A woman who called herself Emily Navar added that the news was "so bittersweet [and] you will be very missed!"

A woman who identified herself as Carin Lynn Varone wrote "I have been coming literally my entire life ... The ice cream place is my grandparents' former house. This breaks my heart."
