Road Improvement Project On Somerdale Road This Week: Police

The project will take place on Thursday and Friday, and it will impact traffic in Gloucester Township.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Traffic on Somerdale Road will be reduced to one lane between Chews Landing Road and Lampost Lane for the next two days, Gloucester Township police said Wednesday night.

The lane reduction will be in effect on Thursday, Nov. 7, and Friday, Nov. 8, 7 a.m. to 3 p.m. for a road improvement and repaving project, police said. Drivers will still be able to travel from Chews Landing Road towards Warwick Road, but traffic will not be permitted in the opposite direction towards Chews Landing Road past Lampost Lane.

Anyone who is not attempting to head to any of the courts and developments off Somerdale Road should use Warwick Road to Evesham Road to Black Horse Pike to Chews Landing Road as a detour. Drivers should also leave earlier to avoid delays due to traffic congestion in the area of Somerdale Road and Chews Landing Road.
