A major utility pole replacement project at the intersection of Lower Landing Road and Almonesson Road will continue this week.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A major utility pole replacement project at the intersection of Lower Landing Road and Almonesson Road in Gloucester Township will continue this week, Camden County officials announced.

Public Service Gas & Electric Company (PSE&G) crews will begin their work on Monday, Oct. 21. The project will impact traffic at the intersection as well as along a stretch of Almonesson Road in the direction of Deptford.

Work will run through Thursday, Oct. 24, 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. each day. Crews will use lane shifts to direct traffic through the intersection of Almonesson Road and Lower Landing Road. Crews will use alternating traffic patterns or a complete closure of Almonesson Road from Lower Landing Road to Hurffville Road depending on conditions at the site.

“This is a fluid project with closures and lane shifts that will continue to be determined as the project progresses,” Freeholder Susan Shin Angulo, liaison to the Camden County Department of Public Works, said. “Motorists should attempt to plan around the area if possible while crews are at work. Crews will utilize lighted message boards to post up-to-the-minute information regarding the status of closures and detours.”

This is part of a larger project that is expected to continue until about Friday, Nov. 8. Scheduling and project timing is dependent on weather and may be adjusted due to unforeseen events.
