Police Seek Driver Who Hit Child Near A School, Fled Scene In South Jersey

Police in Camden County are searching for this pickup truck and its driver, who they say struck a 9-year-old girl near a school on Monday.

BELLMAWR, NJ — The driver of a white pickup truck struck a 9-year-old girl near a South Jersey school on Monday and fled the scene, police said.

The girl was walking near Ethel M. Burke Middle School in Bellmawr before school started. Police in the borough are looking for the driver of the truck, which they say had a broken rear window and damaged front bumper.

First responders took the girl to the hospital, where she was treated and released, according to Bellmawr Police.
