Schools Put on Lockout as Police Investigate Armed Robbery of Gloucester Township Rite Aid
A suspect made off with an undetermined amount of prescription medication Monday morning.

Three schools were placed under a lockout when Gloucester Township Police responded to two 9-1-1 calls of an armed robbery at the Rite Aid store on Chews Landing Road in Laurel Springs on Monday morning.
The schools placed on lockout were Glen Landing Middle School, Loring Flemming Elementary School, and the Mother Goose Learning Center, police said.
Gloucester Township Police officers were posted at each school during the lockout to ensure the safety of both the students and staff.

The lockout was lifted after one hour when it was determined the suspect had fled before police arrived.
The suspect allegedly held up the pharmacist with a handgun and fled with an undetermined amount of prescription medication in an unknown direction around 9:40 a.m., police said.

A Camden County Sheriff’s K-9 Officer responded and did a track of the area, but was unable to find the suspect.
The suspect is described as a thin built white male with razor stubble, wearing a grey shirt and a baseball cap.
