Rowan College at Gloucester County’s (RCGC) Student Government Association (SGA) is eager to invite the residents of Gloucester County and the surrounding community to join them for a day of food, fun and games – all to benefit a great cause.

On Saturday, May 19, from 12 – 6 p.m., the SGA will host RCGC’s second annual Roadrunner Food Truck Festival on the College’s beautiful Sewell campus. Fifteen food trucks will be participating in the event, serving up a diverse selection of specialty foods and beverages sure to please every palate.

Live entertainment will be provided when South Jersey’s own Stealing Savanah takes the stage. Stealing Savanah is a 5-piece cover band known for performing current hits from artists including Justin Timberlake, Maroon 5 and Nikki Minaj, along with the forever-classics from the 1980s to the 2000s. With the variety offered by this band, everyone will be able to sing along.

Music will not be the only entertainment provided as part of the event. Throughout the afternoon, there will be a variety of games and activities to enjoy, including face painting, inflatable bounce-houses and cornhole. In addition, more than 45 crafters and vendors will be on campus displaying and selling their artistry. Participants can even look into their future during a session with a physic, then plan for that future by taking a campus tour and learning about the many pathways RCGC offers to an exciting and fulfilling career.

This year’s Roadrunner Food Truck Festival will include a much-anticipated addition: Gloucester County Institute of Technology’s (GCIT) annual Charity Car Show. The car show will feature more than 150 cars of various classes from 10 a.m. – 3 p.m. New this year will be a special motorcycle display as well as early-bird food trucks serving up coffee, beverages and fun breakfast menus.

Parking and activities are plentiful and completely free of charge – attendees pay only for food and drink. The community is encouraged to come out and enjoy an afternoon of food, fun, friends and family.

All proceeds from this year’s Roadrunner Food Truck Festival will be donated to the Angels Community Outreach. The organization was founded in 2009 by the then 12-year-old Katelyn Darrow, with a mission to provide clothing, food, pet food, toiletries and more to those in need. Since that time, Angels Community Outreach has serviced approximately 50,000 area families out of its Pitman, N.J. storefront. Darrow also runs a wide-variety of philanthropic projects that make it easy for anyone to do a quick good dead for a child in difficult circumstances, from sponsoring a portion of a birthday party, to providing holiday gifts and even contributing to a bedroom makeover.
