See Cop's $100 Tip, Touching Note To Pregnant NJ Diner Waitress

A police officer went above and beyond the call of duty with this gift to a NJ diner waitress.

This police officer really is not just one of the finest. He's one of the most generous.

He's a Voorhees officer who gave a huge tip and left a touching note to a pregnant New Jersey diner witness, while staying anonymous. Indeed, he barely even acknowledged his presence when he gave the 23-year-old woman a $100 gratuity.

As a result, Courtney English got a gift that may be better than anything she could get at a baby shower when she first saw her check at the Lamp Post Diner in Gloucester Township on Friday. And she wants the police officer to know how grateful she is, because she never got the chance.

His note? "Enjoy your first. You will never forget it.”

The bill, by the way, was only $8.75. That means the police officer left a 1,142.86 percent tip.

"I’m just really grateful for this officer's kindness," Courtney told Patch. "It’s truly a blessing to come across people like him and I’m forever thankful for that."

The police officer didn't say much of anything to Courtney when he made his visit to the diner. In fact, he doesn't say much to anybody when he does come, the diner's owner told nj.com.

Courtney, whose baby is due on April 1, said she never got to tell the officer "thank you" because he left so quickly. She thinks that maybe he saw her struggle a bit, waiting tables while she's 7 months pregnant.

She also thinks that maybe he overheard her telling somebody else that it was her first baby.

Her father, Brian Cadigan, found a way to show the family's gratitude, posting the receipt and showing the tip and note on Facebook.

"You always hear about how bad the police are, how they treated you like dirt, how they are on a power trip," he wrote. "Yes, I am sure there are some bad apples, but most of them are just doing their jobs, they deal with the worst of society every day and have to keep going back everyday and deal with it all over again."

Cadigan said his daughter is working, still trying to save as much money as she can. He said she has a lot of regulars, "but this was not one of them."

Cadigan said the police officer came in and he was pleasant, and had his lunch by himself, and then asked for the check.

"My daughter gave him his check, and moved on to wait other tables," he said. "The officer went to the cashier and paid his bill, and left a note on the bill for my daughter."

"This officer, who I am sure works his butt off for his paycheck, left her a $100 tip."

Then Cadigan left a person note of his own to the officer on Facebook:

What a wonderful person to not only leave a VERY generous tip, but a lovely message, I don't know you Mr Police Officer, but you made my little girl cry, and made her year. Thank you, I always had the utmost respect for Officers, but you went above and beyond not just an officer, but a beautiful human being. God Bless.
