Serial Shed Burglar Arrested In South Jersey: Police

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 60-year-old man was arrested after being connected to multiple burglaries in the Sicklerville area, Gloucester Township Police said.

Darryl Hill, of Sicklerville, was charged with three counts of burglary, two counts of theft, one count of eluding, one count of resisting arrest, and one count of criminal mischief.

On July 21, at around 12:20 a.m., officers responded to the unit block of Vance Avenue for a report of someone actively breaking into a shed.

They noticed a white Chevrolet Equinox leaving the scene as they arrived and tried to stop the it.

The driver refused to listen and drove away.

Authorities were able to identify Hill, went to his home, and watched him get out of the Equinox. He then tried to get away on foot.

Hill was taken into custody without further conflict and the Chevrolet was impounded pending a search warrant.

After obtaining the warrant, detectives found evidence, officials said, that linked Hill to multiple other reported burglaries in the area.

In December 2025, officers responded to the unit block of Bainbridge Court for a report of a suspicious vehicle parked in the resident's driveway.

Police found outdoor power equipment and bold cutters in a wooded area behind the home.

A shed belonging to the original caller was also forcibly pried open.

The outdoor power equipment belonged to another resident along Bainbridge Court and was taken from their shed.

It was recovered and returned to the owner.

Hill was taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility pending additional court motions.
