2 Injured In Crash On Atlantic City Expressway In Gloucester Twp.
Two people were ejected from a car when it went off the road and into the woods Monday afternoon, police said.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Two people were injured in a serious accident on the Atlantic City Expressway in Gloucester Township on Monday, police said. The Expressway was closed in both directions between Berlin-Cross Keys Road and Route 42 for a little over an hour.
Police were called to the scene of a brush fire at mile marker 44.1 on the Atlantic City Expressway at about 2:36 p.m. However, upon arrival, police learned that the fire on the scene was actually caused by a car that had gone off the road into the woods and caught fire, according to New Jersey State Police Lt. Theodore Schafer.
Two people were thrown from the car during the accident. They were both transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, but their status was unknown as of 4:30 p.m. The fire was put out, and the road was reopened as of 3:41 p.m.

The car was a Pennsylvania-registered vehicle, but police had no additional information on the cause of the crash and identities of the victims weren't immediately known as of 4:30 p.m.
The accident occurred two days after a 57-year-old Sicklerville woman was killed after being struck by a truck on the Atlantic City Expressway in Winslow Township. Gulcin Dal had parked her car on the side of the road and was standing near the right lane when she was hit by a box truck at about 8 a.m. on Saturday, March 3, according to nj.com. No one was charged in that incident, which remains under investigation.

She was pronounced dead on the scene, and the road was closed for over two hours while police investigated the scene, according to The Press of Atlantic City.
