Shred Event, Drug Take-Back Day In Gloucester Township Saturday

Gloucester Township is inviting residents to participate in a pair of community wide events on Saturday.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Gloucester Township is inviting residents to participate in a pair of community wide events on Saturday.

First stop by the Gloucester Township Shred Event, being held in Parking Lot 14 at Camden County College. Gloucester Township residents with a valid ID only are invited to bring their papers to be shredded between 8 a.m. and noon, or until the trucks are full.

An operator will move the bins to a mobile shredding unit, where your material will be destroyed before your eyes. All of the shredded paper is recycled.

Only paper is accepted. No plastic bags of metal, including binders, bound books and binder clips. Paper clips and staples will be accepted.

From College Drive, take Peter Cheeseman Road to the third Camden Count College driveway on the right; and from Hickstown Road take Peter Cheeseman Road to the first Camden County College driveway on the left. Follow the driveway to the back of the complex to the shredders.

Next, drive to Gloucester Township Police Headquarters, 1261 Chews Landing Road, for the DEA National Drug Take Back Day, and dispose of your old, unwanted prescription drugs for free.

Police will accept unwanted/ expired prescription drugs residents collect from their medicine cabinets, kitchen drawers, and nightstands. Stop by the Gloucester Township Police Department anytime between 10 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, and place them into Project Medicine Drop box located at the police Watch Desk. Liquids and syringes will not be accepted.
