Somerdale Man Fatally Shot In Atlantic City: Prosecutor

A Somerdale man was fatally shot in Atlantic City Tuesday night, Acting Atlantic County Prosecutor Diane Ruberton said.

Atlantic City Police found 20-year-old Kevin Ortiz in the area of South Carolina and Baltic Avenue while responding to a 9-1-1 call around 9:19 p.m. He was the victim of an apparent shooting, and was pronounced dead at the scene.

Next-of-kin were notified, and an autopsy is pending.

The Atlantic County Prosecutor’s Office Major Crimes Unit and the Atlantic City Police Department are investigating. Emergency medical responders also responded to the scene.
