Somerdale Road To Fully Close Overnight In Gloucester Twp.

A stretch of the roadway will only be open for residents in the adjacent neighborhoods.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Somerdale Road Bridge will fully close Friday night in Gloucester Township, officials said.

Somerdale Road will close at Chews Landing Road, which is just south of the bridge that crosses the Big Timber Creek. Warwick Road will be partially open to residents who live in the neighborhoods between Warwick Road and Lamppost Lane.

The closures run from 7 p.m. Friday to 7 a.m. Saturday.

Police shared the following detours:

  • From Chews Landing Road: Travel westbound, turn right onto Black Horse Pike, turn right onto Evesham Road, turn right onto East Atlantic Avenue, turn right onto Warwick Road.
  • From Warwick Road: Travel northbound, turn left onto East Atlantic Avenue, turn left onto Evesham Road, turn left onto Black Horse Pike, turn left onto Chews Landing Road.

Construction to replace the Somerdale Road Bridge began a year ago and is expected to last until early 2027, according to the Camden County government, which is responsible for the roadway.
