Spring Into Action And Help Make Glassboro Safer!
Glassboro Emergency Officials Request That All Address Numbers Are Up To Code

With the warm weather finally upon us, now is the time for spring clean up efforts. As part of these initiatives, the Glassboro 9-1-1 Coordinator is asking residents and business owners to ensure that their address numbers are up to Borough Ordinance Chapter 183 1-4. This means that each address number should be three inches or larger, be of contrasting colors to the residence, and placed in plain sight from the street. Businesses are required to post the number on the front and rear door of their property when it is in a shopping center.
According to the Glassboro 9-1-1 Coordinator Sean J. Kelly, names or P.O. box numbers on mailboxes or on other parts of the building are not sufficient. There must be a physical address on the building. Additionally, multi-housing buildings must also be easily identified.
“By enforcing this ordinance, we are simply trying to make the Borough safer in case of emergencies,” explained Kelly. “In a time of crisis, crucial time can be lost if our emergency responders can’t clearly identify a location. This is a measure we feel is important to protect our community.”
