Student-Run Restaurant Brings Fine Dining to Blackwood Campus

Camden County College's Blackwood Bistro is open Thursday nights through June 4.

Delectable five-course dinners will be served amid low lighting on fine linens in Halpern Hall weekly throughout the rest of the spring semester at Camden County College’s student-staffed Blackwood Bistro.

Members of the public can join CCC students and employees in enjoying a gourmet meal in an upscale setting while helping the culinary students enrolled in the Camden County Career Institute complete the hands-on portion of their studies. This program runs from September to June and teaches enrollees all aspects of the restaurant business, from cooking and cleaning to hosting and serving.

The Blackwood Bistro menu includes starter selections such as jumbo shrimp cocktail, stuffed mushrooms, seafood bisque, French onion soup, Caesar salad and garden salad. Entrée selections include veal Italiani colori; veal Provençale; broiled New York strip steak; broiled filet mignon; broiled veal chop; broiled salmon; chicken, shrimp and scallops aurora; and pasta primavera. Assorted beverages and desserts complete the meal.
