Teachers To Become Superheroes, Fight For Families In Need In Gloucester Township
The Battle of the Teachers is set for May 31.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Teachers in Gloucester Township will become superheroes and help raise money for families in need. Loring Flemming’s third annual Battle of the Teachers event will be held at Glen Landing Middle school on May 31, 7 p.m. The event pits the teachers at Loring Flemming Elementary School against each other in a battle of wit, physicality and silliness.
It is open only to the students and families of Loring Flemming Elementary School. Tickets for parents are $4 and tickets for students are $2. Proceeds will benefit Loring Flemming’s Helping Hands.
Loring Flemming’s Helping Hands provides assistance to Loring Flemming families who are in financial need or affected by emergencies such as house fires. Helping Hands is headed by teacher Constance Wolf. It includes many student and teacher volunteers.
The theme for last year’s Battle of the Teachers was “The Houses of Harry Potter,” but this year, the teachers of Loring will be representing different superhero groups. Who will be victorious? Will it be Team Avengers? The X-Men? The Guardians of the Galaxy? Or The Justice League?
One thing is for certain, Glen Landing’s Gymnasium will be packed with students and their families as they cheer on their favorite teacher and raise money for a great cause.
