Teen Charged In Shooting Death Of 14-Year-Old Gloucester Twp. Boy

The juvenile was charged on Friday, according to officials.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A 15-year-old boy from Sewell was charged with second-degree manslaughter after the death of another teenager in Gloucester Township, officials said.

Police responded to the unit block of Gable Court shortly before noon on Aug. 8, where they found a 14-year-old boy who was shot, according to officials.

The 14-year-old died about an hour later at Cooper University Hospital, officials said.

The ensuing investigation indicated the 15-year-old boy fired the gun "while recklessly handling it in the victim’s residence," according to officials.

The 15-year-old boy was taken into custody on Friday and sent to the Camden County Youth Detention Facility, officials said.
