NJ Man Attacks, Injures Police Officers During Traffic Stop: Authorities
Threats of terror were allegedly made by the Blackwood man as he wrestled with officers.
GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — A man made terroristic threats and physically fought with police officers during a traffic stop on Monday, Gloucester Township Police said.
Tyrie E. Person, 46 of Blackwood, is charged with aggravated assault on law enforcement officers, resisting arrest with violence, terroristic threats, and obstruction.
At around 9:15 a.m., officers were performing traffic enforcement near Black Horse Pike when a driver, Person, was identified.

Person had active warrants out for his arrest.
Officers stopped him in the Oak Avenue Area of Blackwood and notified him of those warrants.

According to authorities, Person then became agitated, wouldn't leave the car, and threatened violence toward the officers.
He then abruptly left the car and got into "a fighting stance" before he "aggressively" attacked the officers.
Police brought Person to the ground, where he continued to resist for multiple minutes.
Two officers were left with minor injuries but declined treatment. Person was also left with minor injuries but was treated.
While in custody, he continued to threaten the officers with violence before being taken to the Camden County Correctional Facility.
