Charges were filed against Simon last month, following an investigation by Cold Case Squad officers from the Camden County Prosecutor’s Office and the Camden County Police Department. Detectives allegedly linked Simon to the crime using DNA evidence.
He was arrested by the U.S. Marshals Service in Texas on Jan. 6. He was extradited to New Jersey this week and is being held at the Camden County Jail.
