Tight Games for Timber Creek Baseball, Softball Teams on Opening Day

The Timber Creek Regional High School baseball and softball teams competed in a pair of close games on opening day.

The Timber Creek baseball team edged Lenape, 6-5, on Wednesday, according to nj.com.

Ethan Blasko was 2-for-4 at the plate with two double and three RBIs. Jason Reynolds had an RBI double.

Pitcher Zack Lutner picked up the win in 5.2 innings of work. Anthony DiMartino recorded the final out for Timber Creek.

The Timber Creek softball team went extra innings before succumbing to Lenape, 14-13, according to nj.com.

Timber Creek took a 1-0 lead in the first inning, and maintained a steady edge throughout until Lenape tied the game at 13-13 in the sixth inning. Lenape scored the winning run in the bottom of the ninth.
