Timber Creek Boys' Soccer Team Scores Eight Goals, Remains Unbeaten

The Timber Creek High School boys' soccer team remaining undefeated this week with an 8-0 win over Camden Catholic, while Highland won its first game. The Highland girls' soccer team remained undefeated, according to statistics posted on nj.com.

Boys' soccer

Timber Creek 8, Camden Catholic 0: Chrizian Duclos and Alex Kourahanis each scored two goals, while Steve Karakitisios and Vincent Palmucci each had a pair of assists. Palmucci also had a goal.

Connor Atkinson, Billy DeLuca and Matthew Hershey each had goals. Joe Burton and Chad Magana each had an assist.

Highland picked up its first win of the season this week, but also dropped a 1-0 decision to Gloucester Catholic this week.

Highland 2, Gloucester 0: Gavin Meyler solved Gloucester goalie Trey Thompson as he scored both goals for the Tartans. Vincent DelGiorno had an assist. Thompson made 12 saves for Gloucester.

Jackson Hess made five saves for Highland.

Girls' soccer:

Highland remained undefeated at 6-0 with a pair of 1-0 wins.

Highland 1, Triton 0: Lauren Hoelke finally broke the scoreless tie in the second overtime with an assist from Lauren Trautwein. Kari Vanderslice made nine saves. The Mustangs fell to 0-5 with the loss.

Highland 1, Gloucester Catholic 0: Morgan Ruth had the lone goal, with an assist from Julia Anskis.

Timber Creek 3, Cherry Hill West 1: Cherry Hill West struck first, taking a 1-0 halftime lead. Timber Creek rebounded with three goals in the second half, including a pair from Sharon Farrell and one from Brianna Magana. 

Timber Creek goalie Jenna Tolen made four saves. Cherry Hill West keeper Christiana Ogunsami made five saves. Timber Creek improved to 4-3, while Cherry Hill West dropped to 2-4.


Timber Creek 6, Camden Catholic 3: Timber Creek exploded for five goals in the second half behind three scores and an assist from Brianna Magana. Shannon Farrell, Angela Masticola and Ellie Palmer also had goals. Palmer added an assist, as did Masticola, Staci Bell and Lexi Karakitsios.

Football:

Shawnee 20, Triton 0: The Mustangs dropped below .500 with the loss, at 1-2. Triton held Shawnee to 7 points in the first half. Anthony DiOrio scored all three touchdowns, on the ground, for the Renegades (2-1).

Triton returns to the field Oct. 11 when it hosts Kingsway, 7 p.m.

Schalick 34, Highland 13: The Tartans scored the first 13 points of the game, on a Derin Sweeney 17-yard touchdown pass to Jonathan Lovenduski and a 72-yard run by Fred Morrison. Schalick then scored 34 unanswered points, including three touchdowns by Tyrell Hart.

Highland (1-2) attempts to bounce back when it visits Pennsville on Friday, 7 p.m. Schalick improved to 2-1.
