Timber Creek Football Team Wins Big; Highland Hangs On

Both teams remain in playoff contention.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- Two of the Black Horse Pike Regional School District’s football teams remain in playoff contention following wins on Friday night, according to nj.com.

Devin Leary threw four touchdown passes and caught another in the Timber Creek Regional High School football team’s 56-14 win over Camden on Friday.

He threw a 10-yard touchdown pass in the first quarter, and then caught a 16-yard pass from Archie later in the second.

His 7-yard scoring strike to Jean-Paul Roane in the first quarter was Roane’s second score; he had put the Chargers on the board first with an 82-yard kickoff return for a score. Leary also threw a 29-yard pass for a score to Roane in the fourth quarter.

Leary’s 10-yard pass to Onani Moore in the second quarter was the first of two for Moore on the day. Moore also scored on a 56-yard punt return.

Harold Coleman’s 3-yard run in the third quarter capped the scoring for Timber Creek.

Timber Creek (5-0) hosts Paul VI (2-4) on Friday night, 7 p.m.

The Highland Regional High School football team scored 21 points in the first half, then held on for a 21-20 win over Sterling on Friday.

Matt McBride put Highland on the board first with a 35-yard touchdown run. Orlando Council scored from 2 yards out, also in the first quarter.

Brian Cooey’s 7-yard touchdown pass to Stephen Callahan gave Highland a 21-6 halftime lead.

CJ Barrett threw a pair of touchdown passes to Chris Roe to account for 14 of Sterling’s points.

Damire Hutchinson scored on a 2-yard run for Sterling, which fell by one point due to a failed PAT and an incomplete two-point pass attempt.

Highland (4-1) hosts Cumberland Regional (1-4) on Friday night, 7 p.m.
