Timber Creek High School Football Team Reclaims First Place in South Jersey Group IV

Timber Creek moved ahead of Shawnee and Hammonton, according to nj.com.

The Timber Creek High School football team has reclaimed first place following its win over Moorestown this weekend.

Timber Creek (7-0, 121 points) broke away from Shawnee (7-0, 114 points) and moved ahead of Hammonton (6-2, 108 points) to claim first place in South Jersey Group IV, according to the standings posted on nj.com on Monday.

Triton (4-3, 64 points) fell two spots, from fourth place to sixth place following its loss to Delsea. It is one point ahead of Winslow (2-7, 63 points).

Kingsway (4-3, 85 points) jumped up to fourth place, while Clearview (3-4, 70 points) occupies fifth.

Absegami (2-5, 56 points) remains in eighth place.

Highland (2-6, 49 points) remains one spot out of the playoff race in Group III following its loss to Pennsville. It is seven points behind Manasquan (3-4, 56 points).

The top eight teams in each group after the first eight games of the season qualify for the playoffs. Only a team’s seven best wins of their first eight games count toward qualifying for the playoffs.

Power points are calculated based on the size of the schools a team has defeated, and the number of wins that team has.
