Timber Creek, Highland Football Teams Pick Up Wins On Opening Night

Triton fell by three points on a fourth quarter touchdown pass.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- The Black Horse Pike Regional School District football teams went 2-1 on opening night, according to box scores posted on nj.com.

Devin Leary threw six touchdown passes to lead the Timber Creek Regional High School football team to a 54-28 win at Delsea.

Leary threw two touchdown passes to Ezrah Archie, of 19 yards and 10 yards. He also threw
a 28-yard touchdown pass to Dante Waugh-Hill; a 57-yard touchdown pass to Jean-Paul Roane; a 4-yard touchdown pass to Tony Brown; and a 32-yard touchdown pass to Dante Witcher.

Harold Coleman also scored twice, on a 49-yard touchdown run and a 62-yard kickoff return for a score.
Timber Creek (1-0) visits Cherokee on Friday, Sept. 16, 7 p.m.

The Highland Regional High School football team scored all its points in the first half en route to a 13-7 win at Woodrow Wilson.

Daejuan Sanders put the Tartans on the board first with an 8-yard run in the first quarter. Brian Cooey scored on a 1-yard run in the second.

Highland’s offense was shut out in the second half, but its defense allowed just one touchdown, a 21-yard pass from Tyler Parsons to Nasir Santos, in the fourth quarter.

Highland (1-0) visits Cherry Hill West (1-0) on Friday night, Sept. 16, 7 p.m.

The Triton Regional High School football team held a late lead, but Bishop Eustace scored on a 65-yard touchdown pass from Kevin Brandt to Ryan Gallagher in the fourth quarter to steal the 10-7 win.

The Mustangs had taken the lead earlier in the period when Alec Thomas connected with Ryan McNamee on a 30-yard touchdown pass.

That gave Triton the 10-3 lead. Bishop Eustace had scored in the first quarter on a 27-yard field goal by Ryan Gallagher.

The game was Triton’s home opener. The Mustangs (0-1) go on the road at Pennsauken (1-0) on Saturday, Sept. 17, at noon.
