Timber Creek, Highland Qualify For Football Playoffs

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The Timber Creek Regional High School football team will look to conquer NJSIAA South Jersey Group 3 from the confines of its own home.

The Chargers, who are seeking their third straight sectional title, enter the playoffs as the No. 1 seed, according to brackets posted on nj.com.

Timber Creek (8-0) hosts No. 8 Seneca (3-5) in the quarterfinals on Friday night, Nov. 10, 7 p.m. The winner will face the winner of the game between No. 4 Delsea (6-3) and No. 5 Ocean City (6-2) in the semifinals Nov. 17.

Woodrow Wilson (6-2) is the No. 2 seed and hosts No. 7 Deptford (3-5) in the quarterfinals. The winner of that game plays the winner of the game between No. 3 Lacey (7-2) and No. 6 Lakewood (4-4) in the semifinals.

The championship game is scheduled for Nov. 30, time and location to be determined.

Timber Creek is seeking a title in Group 3 after winning back-to-back titles in Group 4. It was reclassified into Group 3 over the summer.

This means there will be a new champion in NJSIAA South Jersey Group 4. It may be Highland, but the Tartans face an uphill climb, as they start as the No. 7 seed, according to brackets posted on nj.com.

Highland (4-4) will visit No. 2 Burlington Township (6-2) in the quarterfinals on Friday night, Nov. 10, 7 p.m. The winner faces the winner of the game between No. 3 Central Regional (7-2) and No. 6 Hammonton (3-6) in the semifinals Nov. 17.

Moorestown (8-1) hosts No. 8 Pennsauken (3-5) in the quarterfinals. The winner of that game plays the winner of the game between No. 4 Shawnee (5-3) and No. 5 Absegami (4-4) in the semifinals.
