Timber Creek No. 1, Triton No. 6 in Football Playoffs

The NJSIAA South Jersey Group IV final could be a battle of Black Horse Pike Regional School District teams.

Timber Creek (8-0) earned the No. 1 seed in the South Jersey Group IV playoffs and will host No. 8 Winslow (2-7) Friday night, 7 p.m., according to nj.com.

Triton (5-3) is the No. 6 seed and will visit No. 3 Hammonton (6-3) in the first round Friday night, 7 p.m.

While possible, a South Jersey final between Timber Creek and Triton doesn’t appear likely.

Should Triton get past the Blue Devils in the first round, the Mustangs would likely be matched with unbeaten Shawnee (8-0) in the second round. Shawnee, the No. 2 seed, hosts No. 7 Mainland (3-5) on Friday night, 7 p.m.

Timber Creek opens with a two-win team. If victorious, the Chargers would host either No. 4 Kingsway (5-3) or No. 5 Clearview (4-4) in the second round. Kingsway hosts Clearview Friday night, 7 p.m.

Timber Creek won by large margins at both Kingsway and Clearview this season.

If they don’t meet in the playoffs, there will be no game between the Black Horse Pike Regional teams this year, as they don’t play during the regular season.
