Timber Creek, Triton in Playoff Position in Group IV Through Four Games

Timber Creek is in second place, and Triton is in fifth. The top eight teams make the playoffs.

Two Black Horse Pike Regional School District football teams are in playoff position at the halfway point to the cutoff mark, according to the NJSIAA Football Power Point Standings posted on nj.com.

Timber Creek (4-0, 42 points) is in second place in South Jersey Group IV, two points behind Shawnee (4-0, 44 points).

Triton (3-1, 28 points) is in fifth place in the same group.

Hammonton (4-0, 37 points) is in third place, followed by Toms River South (3-1, 31 points).

Clearview (2-1, 26 points) and Absegami (1-2, 23 points) round out the top eight.

The top eight teams in each group after the first eight games of the season qualify for the playoffs. Only a team’s seven best wins of their first eight games count toward qualifying for the playoffs.

Power points are calculated based on the size of the schools a team has defeated, and the number of wins that team has.

Timber Creek holds wins over Pennsauken (1-3, Group IV), Cherokee (2-1, Group V), Delsea (1-3, Group III) and Washington Township (0-4, Group V).

Triton defeated Cherry Hill West (0-4, Group IV), Woodrow Wilson (0-4, Group III) and Highland (0-4, Group III). Its lone loss came at the hands of Winslow (1-3, Group IV).
