The Gloucester Township Police Department says it will charge suspects who use the toy guns to cause fear or panic.

"Gloucester Township Police is encouraging parents and guardians to educate and speak with their children about the dangers associated with these types of toy guns," the agency said. "It is possible an individual may mistake the toy gun as a realistic threat, endangering the safety of your children or others."

Orbeez guns can be safe if used properly. But they should never be aimed at people, animals or breakable objects, since the high-velocity projectiles can cause injury, according to technology.org. Like in paintball games, protective masks and full-body clothing are recommended for competitive use.
