Transformation Of Historic Building Makes Progress In Gloucester Twp.
The historic bank building will become a township community center and black box theater.

GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — The transformation of a historic bank building into a Gloucester Township community center and theater is making progress, officials said.
The building, developed in 1911, once served as Blackwood National Bank. It will become the future site of the Gloucester Township Community & Arts Center, located in the Gloucester Township Arts District in Downtown Blackwood.
Mayor David Mayer shared progress on the renovations Tuesday in a video, including roof repairs, completion of the bathroom and the addition of a handicap lift.

Once complete, the building will serve as a multi-use community center and a black box theater — a venue for small, live performances — for Mainstage Center for Performing Arts.
The township acquired the property for the project, with help from state funding.
