Turn Dreams into Reality at Mainstage School of Dance: Open Houses August 13 and 14

If your child shows an interest in dance, dreams of performing before an audience, or improving as a dancer, visit Mainstage Center for the Arts’ School of Dance in Washington Township. The studio is holding open houses on August 13-14, 11 a.m. - 2 p.m. The School of Dance will waive the registration fee and provide a free gift for those who register at an open house.

With 40 classes for students ages under two through adults, Mainstage offers classes for dancers of all levels. Classes range from Mommy & Me for 18 month-olds to three-year-olds and their Moms to advanced classes in Ballet, Tap, Contemporary and Acro as well as Adult Hip Hop.

Some highlights for the upcoming program year:

Dance Company is back! Mainstage School of Dance runs a non-competitive performance company and training company that performs regionally throughout South Jersey. Beginning intermediate dancers (training company) through advanced dancers company) perform in the styles of Jazz, Ballet, Contemporary, Acro and Musical Theater. Boys Hip Hop/Breakdancing class is offered for boys only; designed to create a space where they feel comfortable to develop as dancers. Boys learn the skills, timing, rhythm and strength to develop this steer form of dance.

Teen Classes - Teen technique classes provide the newer or less-advanced dancer the opportunity to develop their skills with dancers their own age and ability level.

Musical Theatre Production (MTP) - This course is offered at three levels for children as young as five through teenagers. MTP helps students become well-rounded in musical theater by rotating every four weeks between singing, dancing, and acting.

Itty Bitty Ballet/Tap - In this pre-dance class, young students learn basic technique in a fun imaginative way that inspires creativity.
