2 Dead, 1 Hurt After Work Zone Accident In Voorhees
Police continue to investigate the accident.
VOORHEES, NJ — Two people died and another person was hurt after an accident in a construction work zone in Voorhees on Friday, police said in a post on the Voorhees Township Facebook page.
John Joyce, 65, of West Berlin, was driving on State Route 73 South near Lakeside Kennel when it collided with a steamroller operated by Richard Gatchell, 53, of Hammonton, police said.
Joyce and his passenger, 62-year-old Sharon Hee of Cherry Hill, were pronounced dead at the scene, according to police. Gatchell was taken to Cooper Hospital where he was listed in stable condition, police added.
