GLOUCESTER TOWNSHIP, NJ — Thieves have had it easy in Gloucester Township recently, with an unlocked vehicle stolen and several burglarized, authorities said.

Police have shared two videos of unlocked vehicles getting burglarized in township neighborhoods. Early Thursday morning, a group traveled in a stolen vehicle as they checked car doors, according to law enforcement.

The group stole a car and burglarized others, authorities said. It's unclear where in town the incidents occurred. Police said they're withholding further details as the incidents remain under active investigation.

Police also shared footage of a suspect breaking into three unlocked cars last week — two in the same driveway and one across the street. During each burglary, the suspect placed his foot on the brake pedal and presses the start button, which would start the vehicles if the key FOBs were left inside, police said.

The suspect only stole a phone charger from one vehicle during the burglaries, which occurred at about 4 a.m. July 9 on Johnson Road, authorities said.

Police reminded residents to lock their vehicles every night and remove key FOBs and other valuables.

"If you observe any suspicious activity, or observe a crime in progress CALL 911," the police department said. "You may also call the GTPD non-emergency line at 856-228-4500. DO NOT utilized our anonymous tips systems for crimes in progress or suspicious activity in progress, they are NOT monitored 24/7."
