Woman Killed When SUV Hits Tree In South Jersey

She was a passenger in the vehicle, police said. The driver was hospitalized with serious injuries.

VINELAND, NJ — A woman was killed and a man was hospitalized after an SUV hit a tree Saturday morning in Vineland, authorities said.

Keila Osoria-Garcia, 37, of Wildwood, was pronounced dead at the scene. She was riding in a vehicle driven by Armando Garcia, who was hospitalized with serious injuries, police said.

Garcia, 52, of Vineland, is in stable condition.

Police responded to the scene at about 12:30 a.m. Saturday around East Sherman Avenue and Hance Bridge Road. Officers found a 2009 Nissan Pathfinder overturned in the woods.

Garcia was driving eastbound on East Sherman Avenue when he veered into the woods just east of Hance Bridge Road, where he hit a tree, according to the preliminary investigation.
