Wrestling Championships, Basketball Wins Highlight Opening Of Winter Sports Season In Gloucester Township
The Black Horse Pike Regional School District won a total of 6 individual wrestling titles this weekend.

Gloucester Township, NJ -- The Black Horse Pike Regional School District took home four individual titles at this weekend’s Gator Tournament at Gateway Regional High School, according to nj.com.
Timber Creek won three of those titles, and Triton won the other.
Timber Creek’s Nicholas Digiacomo pinned C.J. Masserli (St. Joseph (Hammonton) in three minutes, 11 seconds in the 106-pound final.

Teammate Blaine Shade pinned Gateway’s Chad Gentzler in 1:14 to win the 160-pound title.
Timber Creek’s Andres Camacho captured the 195-pound crown with an 11-1 major decision win over Williamstown’s Joshua Cooper.

Triton’s Jake Brown won the heavyweight championship with a 17-11 win over Ocean City’s Ed Mejia.
Brown’s teammate, Chance Donahue, advanced to the 132-pound final, but fell to Lindenwold’s Dominic Augello, 11-3.
Timber Creek’s Christian Bobe fell to Gateway’s Tim Sparks, 3-1, in the 138-pound final.
Timber Creek’s Peyton Jones fell to Gateway’s Andrew Solomon, 13-5, in the 152-pound final.
Timber Creek finished fourth as a team with 152 points. Triton was seventh with 57 points. Gateway won the team title with 263.5 points.
Highland won two individual titles at the Neptune Classic, according to nj.com.
Justin Cariss pinned Blair B’s Vincent Colaiocco in three minutes in the 126-pound final.
Devon Starks captured the 220-pound championship with a 6-3 win over Penns Grove’s Tyreke Brown.
Highland’s Seth Henry fell to Blair B’s Trevor Mastrogiovanni in the 120-pound final.
Boys Basketball
Zafir Brower dropped 32 points in Highland’s season-opening 88-54 win over Schalick on Friday, according to nj.com. He also had four rebounds, three assists and five steals.
Dante Masino had a double double with 17 points and 10 rebounds, in addition to five assists, five steals and two blocks.
Damolo Dairo had 15 points, nine rebounds, two assists and three steals.
Highland returns to action Tuesday night at Cumberland Regional, 5:30 p.m.
Tyrese Dallas led four players with double digit point totals as Triton opened the season with a 79-65 win over Wildwood, according to nj.com.
Dallas had 24 points, including four three-pointers, five rebounds and two steals.
Jalen Collins had 16 points, four rebounds and three assists.
Mike Wright had 13 points, including four treys, two rebounds and five assists.
Marcus Truxon had 10 points and nine rebounds.
Triton’s home opener is Tuesday night against Delsea, 7 p.m.
Timber Creek opened the season with a 65-43 win over Paul VI at the Spartan Classic at Deptford High School on Saturday, according to nj.com. The Chargers visit Winslow on Thursday night, 6 p.m.
