Young N.J. Dad Shot Several Times, Killed On Father's Day: Prosecutor
A 24-year-old dad was shot and killed in New Jersey on Father's Day.
"Sick as hell." That's how at least one woman described herself after learning that her cousin, a young father, was killed in New Jersey on Father's Day.
John Gardner, 24, of Paulsboro, was fatally shot Sunday on the 1300 block of Pine Street of his hometown, according to the Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office.
The shooting occurred shortly after 11 p.m. Gardner, who sustained multiple gunshot wounds, was pronounced dead around midnight at Inspira Hospital in Woodbury, according to the GCPO.

Gardner, known as "Bonz" or "Bonzo," had two young sons, and he displayed their pictures with pride on his Facebook page.
His friend's saluted him and were in awe of his children. "That's ma babbbbyyyyy!!! Heyyy shunky mannnn!! Awwwwwww," one person wrote.

Some of those same friends and relatives were very upset to wake up and read about the man who used to play basketball at Paulsboro High School.
Delah Delah, a cousin, said on Facebook that her heart "is very heavy right now. To have just wished all of the fathers a Happy Father's Day yesterday" and then see this, she said, was just too much.
"I feel sick as hell, and to my cousin, R.I.P, and I know u smiling down right now at us and saying everything is ok, u in a better place now," she wrote. "I love you cuz :-(."
The homicide is under investigation by the Paulsboro Police Department and the Gloucester County Prosecutor’s Office. No suspect is presently in custody.
