A trucker was busted this week for carrying 36 kilograms of heroin on I-78, according to police.
Oscar Franco, 58, of Chula Vista, Calif. was arrested for being in possession of $2.88 million worth of heroin, police said.
On Sunday, troopers stopped a tractor trailer for a safety inspection on I-78 eastbound at milepost 6.4 in Greenwich. During the inspection, troopers located 36 kilograms of heroin hidden within the trailer, police said.

Franco was charged with possession of heroin and possession of heroin with intent to distribute. He was lodged at Warren County Jail in default of bail.
"Heroin is poison, plain and simple," the State Police wrote on Facebook. "These troops just prevented $2.8 million in poison form hitting our streets! That's a lot of poison."
