BALTIMORE COUNTY, MD — Authorities in Maryland are investigating whether skeletal remains found in a tributary on Friday are those of a New Jersey woman who has been missing since last month.
According to police in Baltimore County, Maryland, officers responded to an area near the interchange of Route 702 and Interstate 695 after receiving a report of possible human remains.
When officers arrived, they located the remains in a nearby creek bed.
Police are working to determine whether the remains are those of 46-year-old Kimberly Gordon of Lopatcong, who was reported missing after she was last seen behind a Sky Zone in Rosedale, Maryland, around 2 p.m. on June 21.
Investigators said Gordon was driving a white 2024 Hyundai Elantra displaying a wide-load sign and stickers bearing her name and phone number on the side windows.
Police think she crashed the car and possibly suffered from a head injury. Gordon's car was located, but authorities have yet to find her.
The remains were taken to the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner, where an autopsy will be performed to confirm the person's identity and determine the cause and manner of death.
The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Baltimore County Police Department at 410-887-4636.
