HACKETTSTOWN, NJ — Students in Hackettstown are heading back to class Wednesday, marking the start of a new school year across the district.
The first day comes after teachers and staff report Mon. and Tues. to prepare classrooms, review plans and get ready to welcome students back.
Families should plan for shorter school days during the opening week. The district calendar lists Wednesday through Friday as early dismissal and professional development days, meaning students will head home earlier than they would on a regular schedule.
Parents and guardians may want to confirm dismissal times with their child's school and review any transportation, meal or aftercare arrangements affected by the abbreviated days.
Families should also allow extra travel time around school buildings as drivers and students settle back into their routines.
The district calendar, including upcoming meetings, school closures and other schedule information, is available on the Hackettstown Public School District website.
